Second Generation Hunter Wins Top ASIC Award

This past May, the American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC) held their annual National Conference in Tucson, Arizona.

At the conference, Hunter Industries president and CEO Richard E. Hunter was acknowledged with the organization’s prestigious Roy Williams Memorial Award. The award is presented annually to an individual, organization or business recognized for their significant contributions to the irrigation industry. Formerly the ASIC Industry Achievement Award, the award was renamed after the Society’s founder and first president in 1988.

Receiving the award had special meaning for Mr. Hunter as his father, the legendary Ed Hunter (founder of Hunter Industries and one of the pioneers of the modern irrigation industry), won this same award many years ago.

The ASIC, headquartered in Chicago, is dedicated to advancing the irrigation industry through the effective use and management of water and other natural resources. The mission of the society is to enhance the role of the independent professional irrigation consultant as the unbiased advocate of the client.
